Welcome, I'm Avery

Hi, my name is Avery. I'm a university student majoring in Computer Science. I've always been drawn to the logic and creativity behind coding — the way a few lines can build something interactive. University gives me the perfect environment to explore that curiosity, and I'm eager to learn more about programming languages, algorithms, and how software shapes our world.

Outside of lectures, my life is filled with anime and movies. I enjoy both classic series and new films; they offer different perspectives and often inspire me. From the heartfelt stories in Studio Ghibli to the intense plots of thrillers, cinema has a way of broadening my imagination. On holidays, I love travelling. I've visited Shanghai, Jiangxi, Beijing, Liaoning, and several other places. Each destination leaves a unique impression — the modern skyline of Shanghai, the historical depth of Beijing, the natural beauty of Jiangxi, and the special flavours of Liaoning.

One of my strongest travel memories is trying tiěguō dùn (iron pot stew) in Liaoning — it's a hearty dish that warms you up, especially after a day of sightseeing. I also stood in awe before the ruins of Yuanmingyuan in Beijing and walked along the Great Wall. The ocean has a special pull on me; I've visited the coast in several cities just to watch the waves and feel the breeze. Travelling lets me taste new foods and understand how people live in different parts of my country.

I built this simple website to share a bit about myself — my studies, my hobbies, and the places I've been. Feel free to look around.

I'm Avery, 20 years old, and I grew up in a medium-sized city in China. At university, I'm pursuing a degree in Computer Science. My interest in computers started when I was a teenager — I was curious about how websites worked and why games behaved the way they did. Now, I get to learn about these things formally. It's not always easy, but I enjoy the process of solving problems and seeing my code run.

When I'm not studying, I'm probably watching anime or a movie. I like a wide range of genres: slice-of-life, fantasy, sci‑fi, and even some classic Chinese films. They give me a break from screens full of code and let me dive into different stories. I also spend time reading about places I want to visit — travel has become a big part of who I am.

During breaks, I've travelled to several provinces. In Shanghai, I walked along the Bund at night and tried shengjianbao. In Jiangxi, I hiked in the mountains and tasted local tea. Beijing impressed me with its grand history — the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace left me thinking about the past. And in Liaoning, apart from the delicious iron pot stew, I also enjoyed the seafood by the Bohai Sea. I realise that travelling isn't just about seeing sights; it's about feeling the atmosphere and meeting people.

I'm not an expert in any field yet — I'm still learning, both in tech and in life. This page is a small window into my world.
